Terms & Conditions

• By sending us your negatives, you (customer) are confirming that you have read, understood and agreed to the Terms & Conditions which can be updated at any time without notice.
• Once orders are received, Portsmouth Print Shop will confirm the quantity and the cost by email.
• Portsmouth Print Shop will only commence work on orders once the invoice has been paid in full.
• An order cannot be cancelled once it has been commenced, however, please contact Portsmouth Print Shop immediately (preferably by phone call) to notify of any changes or in the event of an emergency. Portsmouth Print Shop reserves the right to cancel work orders at any time.
• It is the customer’s responsibility to identify the film’s, i.e. - event, date and type of film. These details will enable Portsmouth Print Shop to arrange how the image folders will be arranged for download or filed on USB sticks.  If there is no separation or instructions then images will be inserted in one folder.
• Only send Portsmouth Print Shop negatives or slides that are to be scanned.  Negatives must be in a minimum of 2 frames as single 35mm frames will be charged at a higher rate.
• Portsmouth Print Shop’s standard service is to provide JPEG of the scanned images, which is the most common way of storing images.
• The downloadable scanned images will only be sent to the e-mail address that is provided.
• Portsmouth Print Shop will keep a backup of the customer’s scanned films for 90 days after which point they are deleted from its system.
• Please do not send personal hard drives or USB sticks or any form digital storage device.
• Customer’s negatives will only be cleaned with anti-static non-wet material to remove surface dust.
• Only basic colour and density corrections will be made as part of the scanning service. Anything additional required by customer must be requested and an additional charge may apply.
• When sending your negatives to Portsmouth Print Shop ensure all precautions are taken so they are not lost or damaged in transit.
• Portsmouth Print Shop will return original film and slides to customers by Special Delivery so the package can be tracked and is the secure method of delivery.  Portsmouth Print Shop will not be responsible for items lost in transit.
• By using Portsmouth Print Shop’s scanning service customers are confirming that they are the owner and copyright holder of the images contained in the film/slides or they have received permission for Portsmouth Print Shop to scan them.  By processing client’s / customer’s orders Portsmouth Print Shop will not be held responsible for infringement under copyright law in the UK and other territories.
• Customer’s personal data provided on the order form will only be used for Portsmouth Print Shop’s business purposes and not shared with any third party.
